Planning ‘wrong button’ vote not revoked

Planning permission for a 260-home development, in north Yorkshire granted when a councillor mistakenly voted in favour of the proposal, will not be revoked.

The application was approved by Ryedale District Council in August after a councillor ‘pressed the wrong button’ on an electronic voting system.

A council motion to overturn the decision over the scheme earmarked for land near Kirkbymoorside was defeated.
